A temazcal (from the Nahuatl temazcalli, house where you sweat) refers to an ancestral ritual and a steam bath with herbal infusions.
Used in traditional medicine for detoxification purposes and the daily life of the people from several indigenous cultures in Mesoamerica and North America.
It all starts in the middle of the jungle, with an opening ceremony in front of the village altar.
This takes place in front of a fire, where you expose your intentions to this element as an offering.
Now, it is time to get inside the temazcal and to go on with this mayan purification.
At the end of the ceremony, we'll take you to a private cenote to immerse yourself in mineralized waters and close the cycle of energies and blessings. Here you will also enjoy a tasting of seasonal fruits.
